The Last Duel

'The Last Duel' is the new film directed by Ridley Scott and is based on a true story that took place in France in the year 1386. The film recreates the real confrontation that occurred between two friends who are: Jean de Carrouges (played by Matt Damon) and Jacques LeGris (played by Adam Driver). This came after the first of the two accused the other of raping his wife, Marguerite de Carrouges (played by Jodie Comer). Until then, the two knights were very close friends, but their friendship will be damaged by these accusations, which LeGris in fact denies. It was Marguerite herself who decides not to remain silent in the face of such a terrible crime, denouncing him publicly, which automatically puts her life in danger. Therefore, the two knights will face a duel orchestrated by King Charles IV (played by Ben Affleck). One of them will end the life of the other and if the squire Jacques LeGris does it, Marguerite will be inmediatly face a death sentence, as a punishment for saying false accusations. The lives of the three characters will endager and also their fate, in this duel that will change all of them forever.

In addition to their roles in the film, both Matt Damon and Ben Affleck have participated in the writing of the script.
