French journalist Sonia Kronlund helms this atypical documentary about Afghan filmmaker Salim Shaheen, self-proclaimed as the most prolific director in Afghanistan. Shaheen claims to have produced more than 100 low-budget movies. In this film, Kronlund follows the director and his group of eccentric actors during the filming of one of his movies, and Shaheen tells her the story of his life. How he learnt the cinema art thanks to Bollywood, how he managed to keep on shooting while Afghanistan lived under the Taliban regime, when any image representation was strictly forbidden. In the middle of a country in war, and with bombs falling around, Shaheen is still able to fulfill his childhood dream: making films.
