Plot

'The Runaways' tells the story of three siblings - Angie (Molly Windsor, 'Three Girls', 'Chat', 'Oranges and Sunshine'), Polly (Macy Shackleton, 'Deep Water', 'Broken, 'Moving On') and Ben (Rhys Connah, 'The White Princess', 'To Walk Invisible', 'Happy Valley') - who, after the untimely death of their father, decide to flee from their home and criminal uncle in search of their long-estranged mother. The three children, led by the eldest, Angie, attempt to cross the historical North Yorkshire Moors with only each other and two donkeys from their family business in tow. As the three try to navigate nature and the loss of their father, they discover what it means to be siblings and the importance of those unbreakable bonds in times of crises. 'The Runaways' takes a story of love, loss and self-discovery and sets it against the stunning backdrop of Northern England.

'The Runaways' is a coming-of-age adventure film written and directed by Richard Heap, whose other directorial works include 'We Move Through', 'McClure/Mawson/Verdon' and 'Consumed: Inside the Belly of the Beast'. Joining the cast are Mark Addy ('Game of Thrones', 'Full Monty', 'A Knight's Tale'), Tara Fitzgerald ('Legend', 'Requiem', 'Comoran Strike'), Lee Boardman ('Roma', 'Outlander', 'The Last Kingdom') and Steve Huison ('Doctors', 'Scott & Bailey', 'Wire in the Blood').
