The Spy Gone North

'The Spy Gone North' is a Korean drama/thriller set in 1993. It tells the story of a former military officer who's recruited as a spy by the South Korean National Intelligence Service. When he becomes an agent, he's given a code name "Black Venus". His mission is to infiltrate a select group of North Korean officials based in Beijing, with the ultimate goal of acquiring information on the North Korean nuclear program. After becoming close with a key power broker, Black Venus achieves his goals by gaining the trust of North Korea's leadership. But political machinations on both sides of the border threaten to derail his accomplishments.

This film debuted on the Cannes Film Festival during 2018 and it made its way to Spain, been featured in the Sitges Film Festival that same year.
