Wetland

Thriller directed by Iñaki Sánchez Arrieta, director of 'Zero', and starring Raúl Arévalo and Paz Vega, complete the cast by Joaquín Climent, Roberto Álamo, Susi Sánchez, Enric Juezas and Susana Merino. Opening film of the Mostra de Valencia 2021, 'Wetland' is set in the Albufera Natural Park, Valencia. A severe drought is causing serious damage in the vast expanses of rice fields in the Spanish Levante. An environmental and economic problem, which has severely punished the local populations, lacking resources; in addition to leaving severe environmental consequences.

Faced with such a situation, autonomous government sends Ricardo (Raúl Arévalo), a prestigious biologist of international recognition, who has the opportunity to return to his roots. His mission is to protect the natural area, La Albufera. However, by not offering economic alternatives to the inhabitants of the area, it will cause several frictions with the locals, to the point that these problems turn into dangerous threats, especially when discovering that the predecessor biologist who was sent to the area , died under strange circumstances.

To this is added that Ricardo lives his own personal drama, as he decided to return to his origins after experiencing a tragic event in his family, which led to his relationship with his wife, Claudia (Paz Vega), and his daughter being in a very complicated moment.
