At last.

Marvel and the Russo brothers have given to the people what the people wanted: the 'Avengers 4' trailer, which is now officially titled 'Avengers: Endgame'. After months of waiting, and facing the release in April of 2019, at least we can sink our teeth into the look awaited sequel to 'Avengers: Infinity War'.

Anthony and Joe Russo were the first to share the news on their Twitter account with the exciting caption: "For those who have been here since the beginning. For those who have joined along the way. For the best fans in the Universe. This trailer is for you... With much love and gratitude for your patience, The RB's".

The trailer is just as epic as anything we could have foreseen: Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) in his last moments, lost and alone in space declaring that "part of the journey is the end", as well as the Marvel logo fading to dust just like the victims of Thanos' (Josh Brolin) finger snap. We see an eerie clip of the titan himself walking through a sunny field, starkly contrasting to the solemnity of tone and colour palette in the rest of the trailer. The rest of the Avengers (Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo) are seen crying on Earth, stranded in the ruins of Earth, forced to accept their defeat and the loss of their friends... And, of course, the awesome return of Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner).

Despite the doom and gloom, it seems that ray of hope may yet glimmer, as Black Widow and Captain America have a plan in the making ("I know it'll work, because I don't know what I'll do if it doesn't", Steve says). The goosebumps are real...

They have also released the first official poster, which hauntingly reminds us of the terrible fates of so many, as they crumbled to dust and were carried away by the winds.

Ant-Man to the Rescue?

The light at the end of the tunnel comes in the final scenes of the trailer, as we see Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) arriving at the Avengers headquarters to join Captain America and Black Widow. Could it be Ant-Man who is the final key to the defeat of Thanos? All will be revealed in April, when the film finally is released in cinemas.
