Jaden Smith's film career is all a bit here and there: he made his acting debut in 'The Pursuit of Happyness' and went on to take the leading role in 'Karate Kid' back in 2010. Smith's big break came when he was just 15 years old and starred in 'After Earth', since then however, we've only really seen him on TV in series like 'The Get Down' and 'Neo Yokio'. Now, however, it appears as though Will and Jada Pinkett Smith's oldest child is ready to return to the big screen.

This 21st January just gone, Jaden Smith introduced his latest film, 'Skate Kitchen', an independent drama about the skater sub-culture in New York. Variety managed to sit down with the actor and didn't hesitate in asking with whom he'd most like to work. Without so much as a pause, Smith replied "James Cameron, 'Avatar 2', my sister speaks Na'vi, we can talk about it".

It shouldn't come as a surprise that Jaden Smith wants a part in the sequel to the highest grossing film of all time, especially given that donning the blue costume would be a great way to mark his return to cinema. The only thing we're not too convinced about however is whether Willow Smith really can speak Na'vi - the official language of the planet Pandora.

5 instalments in the works

It's been almost a decade since 'Avatar' first premiered, yet we still have 2 years to go before we'll be able to catch a glimpse of the first sequel. 'Avatar 2' is set for release on 18th December 2020. Filming for the sequel has already proven costly and we wouldn't expect any less, especially if the 'Titanic' director wants to wow audiences once more.

Whilst the new instalments are due to roll out over the next 5 years, Cameron has already admitted that there'd be no fourth or fifth films if the second and third don't make enough money. Given the fanbase that the first film gained, we doubt the sequels will have any problems. Aside from Zoe Saldana, Sam Worthington and Sigourney Weaver, we'll also see Kate Winslet, Oona Chaplin and Cliff Curtis.
