A SOLO SKYWALKER?

Luke Skywalker was going to be Played by Another Actor in 'The Force Awakens'

It seems that the rumours were true; at one point there were plans to overlook Mark Hamill, and chose a different actor to play the famous Jedi.

'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' was an incredible success for Disney, which succeeded in reviving George Lucas' saga and giving it a new life. With new characters, enemies, and stories, the J.J. Abrams film opened a whole new path for the world, but maintaining a variety of the original protagonists such as Leia (Carrie Fisher) and Han Solo (Harrison Ford). However, Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) was almost going to make an appearance before the very end of the film, and not only appear on the island where Rey (Daisy Ridley) eventually finds him; Rey's vision in the film was originally going to include snippets of the character, but played by another actor.

One of the images deleted from the original version of the first film has recently come to light, and in it we have discovered that there were initially some very different plans for the legendary Jedi. It seems that Luke was going to make his first appearance via Rey's division about her past and the history of the Jedi, although in the end the only nod towards the character that we see is the robotic hand and how his lightsaber was lost in the battle against Darth Vader. The original idea, however, was to show the actual battle between the young Jedi and his Sith father, but with Robert Boulter in the role of Luke.

The Force Awakens

If this small flashback was going to remind us of the epic scene, it was necessary to find an actor who looked like young Hamill, and judging by the photo it is a fairly accurate match! Although, in the end, if the scene was ever even recorded, the idea was discarded by Abrams and Lucasfilm, making the end appearance of Luke far more dramatic and potent.

Only One Luke

This image confirms the strong rumors circulating before the release of the 'Force Awakens', when it was said that another actor was going to step into the role of Luke Skywalker, although in the end it did not happen. However, this relation also could lead us to think that the possibility of seeing flashbacks, played out by another actor, is still on the table for the following film. It isn't for nothing that the true origins of Rey continue to be cloaked in mystery; there are still many doors open.
