Now that the premiere of Marvel's latest film, 'Thor: Ragnarok' is right around the corner, many have cast their eyes to future projects. Kevin Feige, production president and others behind Marvel successes are already talking about producing a separate film for Hulk, who'll be played by Mark Ruffalo.

"I think that back and forth continues, and I don't know if it will ever happen. But I will tell you, it makes me very, very happy going from a world, ten years ago, when people were questioning the viability of Hulk in a standalone film, to getting asked every other interview, 'When will there be another standalone Hulk?'", mentioned Feige in an interview with IndieWire.

After the failure of Hulk films starring Eric Bana and Edward Norton as the green giant, the studio decided to halt any further Hulk adventures in exchange for using the character as support for 'The Avengers'. Hulk will feature in the third instalment to the Thor saga, and is most definitely one of the main attractions of the film.

Not everything is up to Marvel

Even though Marvel would like to release a standalone film about Hulk, the decision is not theirs to make. Universal, who hold the rights for all of the solo Hulk films, are the ones who get to make the decision and for the most part, they don't seem interested. This is most likely why we've only seen Hulk in crossovers. "Universal has the rights, and for some reason, they don't know how to play well with Marvel", clarified Ruffalo at D23 Expo.

So, it seems as though we'll only ever get to see a Hulk film if Universal and Marvel come to some form of agreement. While the chances are slim they're not impossible, for, in a similar situation, Sony and Marvel were able to join forces to revive Spiderman for the 1000th time.
