I Know What You Did Last Summer saga

'I Know What You Did Last Summer' is one of the teen horror series that followed the success of 'Scream'. Written by Kevin Williamson, the screenwriter of 'Scream', from Lois Duncan's novel, 'I Know What You Did Last Summer' (1997) tells how four friends run a man over, hide the body and, a year later, find themselves stalked by a killer in a fisherman's oilskin wielding a hook.

Its cast brought together some of the young stars of the day: Jennifer Love Hewitt, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ryan Phillippe and Freddie Prinze Jr.. It was a hit, with a quick sequel, 'I Still Know What You Did Last Summer' (1998), set on a Caribbean island, and a third, straight-to-video film, 'I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer' (2006).

The series returned to cinemas with 'I Know What You Did Last Summer' (2025), directed by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, a new story with young leads that brought back Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr. in their original roles.
