Saga Star Trek

Star Trek

'Star Trek', the science fiction story that has captured the audience for decades, began in 1966 with the television drama 'Star Trek: The Original Series', and has since enjoyed a long life on the small screen with four other series of live action and another animation series.

The debut film, 'Star Trek: The Motion Picture', arrived in 1979 thanks to Robert Wise, and soon was very well accompanied by six more movies directed by Nicholas Meyer, Leonard Nimoy and William Shatner among others. So 'Star Trek II - The Wrath of Khan', 'Star Trek III - The Search for Spock', 'Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home', 'Star Trek V: The Final Frontier' and 'Star Trek VI - The undiscovered country' were films starring William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy.

After these interstellar adventures came 'Star Trek: Generations' a film directed by David Carson replacing Shatner's Captain Kirk by the Captain Picard played by Patrick Stewart. The change revitalized the series that featured three more installments: 'Star Trek: First Contact', 'Star Trek: Insurrection' and 'Star Trek: Nemesis'.

In 2002, with the premiere of 'Nemesis', the franchise was crying for another change that came with the film of JJ Abrams. 'Star Trek' was the title chosen for this new beginning starring Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto in the roles of Kirk and Spock. The new image succeeded, as the film went on grossing more than 300 million worldwide. 'Star Trek Into Darkness' was the sequel also directed by Abrams with a great Benedict Cumberbatch in the skin of the villain Khan. 'Star Trek Beyond' will be the next chapter of Pine's and Quinto's adventures.
