Alexander Ludwig (Vancouver, May 7, 1992) is a Canadian actor who possesses that rare virtue of having grown up on screen without the audience noticing too much. The son of a former actress and a businessman who became co-chairman of Lionsgate (yes, the very production company that would later hire him), he began working at nine with an advertisement for a Harry Potter figurine. From there, he moved on to family films and his first leading role in The Seeker: The Dark Is Rising (2007), before sharing the screen with Dwayne Johnson in 'Race to Witch Mountain' (2009). A resolved childhood curriculum.

The breakthrough came in 2012 with 'The Hunger Games', where his Cato, the professional tribute from District 2, won the award for Best Villain at the Teen Choice Awards and made Ludwig the face that every teenager recognized instantly. But the role that truly defined his adult career was Bjorn Ironside in 'Vikings' (2014-2020), six seasons of historical drama, swords, and father-son crises that established him as more than just the handsome villain of the moment.
