Biography

Spanish director and screenwriter known for ''The Impossible' (2012) and The Orphanage (2007). Sánchez wrote his first feature film script in 1996, having directed and written several short films since then. During the making of the short '7337' in the year 2000, Sánchez met Juan Antonio Bayona, who in 2007 would direct his screenplay for 'The Orphanage' and with whom he would return to work for the film 'The Impossible'. Sánchez is also responsible of the scripts of 'Purgatorio' (2014) and 'Palm Trees in the Snow' (2015). In 2017 he made his directorial debut with 'Marrowbone'.
