Aída y vuelta

“Aída y vuelta” proposes a journey between the scenes and the screen, exploring the filming of an episode of the emblematic series Aída. The film follows both the characters of the fiction —their entanglements, conflicts, and comedic moments— as well as the actors who portray them, showcasing their relationships, tensions, and the pressure that comes with bringing a television success to life. This dual approach allows the viewer to observe how comedy is constructed and negotiated in the day-to-day of a set, revealing the creative and personal challenges that arise between scenes. 

Amidst laughter and conflicts, the story raises questions about the limits of humor: ¿how far can a joke go without hurting?, ¿how does fame affect those who inhabit and interpret it? and ¿what price does an actor pay when living between their character and their own identity? The film combines meticulously rehearsed moments with unexpected situations from the shoot, creating a constant dialogue between fiction and reality. The camera delves into rehearsals, improvisations, and the internal conflicts of the team, revealing the invisible forces that shape comedy and exposing the vulnerability behind the applause. 

'Aída y vuelta' not only celebrates the talent of the performers but also invites reflection on the construction of television as a spectacle, the art of making people laugh, and the delicate balance between work, creativity, and public exposure. Now under the direction of Paco León, most of the original cast of the series returns to bring to life the iconic characters that gave us so many moments in Esperanza Sur over 10 seasons. The script is written by León himself and Fernando Pérez, who was also a writer for the series.
