Carmen & Lola

'Carmen & Lola' is the film directed by Arantxa Echevarría, which focuses on Lola, a young gypsy girl who is 16 years old. Her mother is illiterate and she is very proud of her daughter as she goes to the school. But Lola thinks she is different from the rest of the people she knows. She imagines herself going to college, something very different from what it is expected of her at her age: to meet people and get a boyfriend. She does not know what she wants and she feels confused when she sees two women kissing on the television. On the other hand is Carmen, a woman who works in a hairdresser and pretends to marry her boyfriend when they are 17 years old. One day their paths will cross in the market and Lola will feel an irresistible attraction to Carmen.
