Plot
This animated film tell the story of how was the first journey around the world, based on the story of the Spanish Juan Sebastian Elcano and the Portuguese Fernando de Magallanes in the sixteenth century. This expedition started with a group of sailors making a trip to the unknown and with the objective of arrive to Molucas Islands, situated next to Indonesia. This virgin territory, full of animals and plats that goes further than the imagination, will take this sailors to deal with storms, hunger, natives and all kinds of problems. Only 18 of the 240 sailors that left Seville came back alive.
'Elcano y Magallanes: la primera vuelta al mundo' is directed by Ángel Alonso and written by Garbiñe Losada and Jose Antonio Vitoria. The film has a great soundtrack composed by Joseba Beristain.

The challenge of Ángel Alonso
In the words of the director, Ángel Alonso, one of the biggest challenges of '[ELCANO Y MAGALLANES, THE FIRST ROUND TO THE WORLD] `was to create and give life to the sea. In all the productions he had made, he had always tried to avoid the vast ocean since the difficulty of recreating the sea itself was very high.
An old project
Although the production has had three years to take it forward, in reality this project was born 15 years ago with the writers Jose Antonio Vitoria and Garbiñe Losada. But due to the technical deficiencies of the time, they couldn't move forward the production.
A soundtrack attached to his roots
The soundtrack of Joseba Beristain is composed mainly of symphonic music recorded exclusively by the Euskadi Symphony Orchestra and the Orfeón Donostiarra.
