Forty years have passed since the monster of Frankenstein was last seen, trapped in a fire that many believed to be his tomb. But in this new adaptation directed by Guillermo del Toro, the myth resurrects with an emotional and visual depth never before explored.

Dr. Septimus Pretorious, an old colleague of Victor Frankenstein, emerges from the shadows with a sick obsession: to continue the experiments that his predecessor abandoned. Where Victor saw horror, Pretorious sees possibility. But to achieve this, he needs to find the original being, that creature rejected by its creator and by the world.

In a world shrouded in mist, crumbling castles, and forgotten laboratories, Pretorious follows rumors, legends, and nearly erased traces. He firmly believes that the monster still lives, hidden deep in the forests or wandering the mountains, tormented but not defeated.

With Del Toro's characteristic sensitivity, this version does not present the monster as a threat, but as a tragic being: misunderstood, lonely, and perhaps... willing to help. Because Pretorious is not simply looking to recreate life: he wants to form a new species, a family made of reanimated dead and broken souls. And he knows that, to achieve this, he will need something more than science. He will need to convince Frankenstein's first child... that he never has to be alone again.
