Plot

Rob Letterman takes to the big screen the famous series of horror novels for kids 'Goosebumps', written by R.L. Stine. The movie has Jack Black playing, precisely, the books author himself, R.L. Stine. The story is focused on Zach (Dylan Minnette), a young man moves from a big city to a small town with his mother. When he is unpacking, he meets his neighbor, Hannah (Odeya Rush) and, unfortunately, he meets her father too, a mysterious man who doesn't want her to hang out wit their new neighbor. One day, exploring Hannah's house, they find a series of strange books, and they make the mistake of opening them. The books set free a series of dangerous and spooky monsters who start turning the house into a big chaos. Zach, Hannah and a pretty weird boy named Champ (Ryan Lee) will try to capture again all the monsters and put them into the pages they shouldn't have never leave. 'Goosebumps' brings to life the most famous monsters of R.L. Stine's novels, like the mummy, the werewolf, the garden gnomes and Slappy, the puppet. Hide full plot... Show full plot

Trivia Goosebumps

Tim Burton was originally going to produce the film in 1998. However, the project fell through. The only "monster" characters in the film with spoken lines are both voiced by Jack Black. This film is based on a young adult horror anthology book series of the same name.
