Hatching

'Hatching' is the new work by Hanna Bergholm. The story follows the life of Tinja, a young girl played by Siiri Solalinna. She is a young gymnast who is constantly and desperately trying to please her mother. She is a woman obsessed with the world of social media, always wanting to show the image of a perfect family. One night, Tinja finds a strange egg that she decides to take care of. As she takes care of the egg, she discovers that something strange is growing inside it. The day the shell breaks and the egg hatches, something comes out of it that our young protagonist could never have imagined... The cast of the film is completed by Sophia Heikkilä, Jani Volanen, Reino Nordin, Oiva Ollila, Saija Lentonen, Stella Leppikorpi, Ida Määttänen, Hertta Karen and Miroslava Agejeva. The screenplay is by Ilja Rautsi, while Stein Berge Svendsen will score the film. Cinematography is by Jarkko T. Laine. The production companies behind 'Hatching' are Silva Mysterium Oy, Film I Väst and Hobab. 'Hatching' will be distributed in Spain by Vértigo Films. In addition, the film received an award for Best Special Effects during its premiere at the Sitges Film Festival 2022. The original name of this terror film, of Finnish origin, is 'Pahanhautoja'.
