CRISPR (Clustered Regularly Interspaced Short Palindromic Repeats) are families of DNA sequences in bacteria. The dominion over these is an extraordinary breakthrough. It is the path to cure diseases and even to define the attributes of our offspring. 'Human nature' explores this discovery through the interviews to scientists who found it and those who use bioengineering to modify it. Families whose lives were altered by CRISPR also talks about it. This documentary explore the questions around this new field in the genetic enhancement. A door to try to understand the ethical implications of this new evolutionary path. Adam Bolt, filmmaker who wrote the Oscar winning documentary, 'Inside job', directs his first long feature film with 'Human Nature'. With him, Regina Sobel ('Fail State') writes the script with the help of a investigation work with scientists and specialists. The new documentary goes around CRISPR, its impact on the world and the future of bioengineering. The importance of 'Human Nature' was acknowledged when it was awarded with the Audience Award from the Academia Film Olomouc, in the Czech Republic.
