Plot
'Idols' delves into the world of the Motorcycle Grand Prix World Championship, where Edu, a young motorcyclist, will compete to achieve the dream of his life. This will not be easy because, to begin with, no team wants Edu on their roster due to his aggression and constant disrespect. This is the case until Eli, the head of the Aspar Team in the Moto2 standings, arrives and offers the young man an opportunity. He proposes a coach: a retired ex-racer who caused the death of another rider in a race. Edu's surprise will be that this future coach is none other than his father, Antonio Belardi. They haven't seen each other for many years, and the young man hates him for abandoning him, although it may be necessary to achieve his dream.
To get closer to the trophy, Edu undergoes a strict regimen imposed by his father, which will require him to set aside many things, including love. However, he meets Luna, a young tattoo artist who will complicate his ability to follow his father's instructions to the letter.
Mat Whitecross directs 'Idols', a Spanish-Italian co-production with a script by Jordi Gasull, Inma Cánovas, and Ricky Roxburgh. The protagonists, Edu and Luna, are played by Óscar Casas and Ana Mena. Other cast members include Enrique Arce, Alessandra Carrillo, Claudio Santamaria, and Simone Baldasseroni.
'Ídolos' hits theaters on January 23, 2026, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures.
