Plot

'La enfermedad del domingo' relate the child's story called Chiara (Bárbara Lennie) who was abandoned for her mother Anabel (Susi Sánchez) when she was 8 years old. 35 years ago, Chiara ask for to her mother that they stay together for ten days. Anabel, happy, think that she can recovers to her daughter. However, she doesn't know that her daughter has a double intention and she will do that Anabel confronts to an important decision.

The essence of the movie is based in this perpetual feeling that never disappear. A Sunday something wrong happens and the pain that you felt on this same Sunday remain during all days of your life like if it was a disease.

This intimate drama of Ramón Salazar is starring by the winner of the Goya award to Best Actress in the year 2014 Bárbara Lennie for this role in 'Magical Girl'. In this movie he works again with the actress nominated to Goya award for his previous movie '10.000 noches en ninguna parte', Susi Sánchez too.

The film's name

The filmmaker said the name of the film refers to that feeling I had when I was 8 years old, during the Sunday afternoons, when the light fade out and I listened to the animated tv show songs in the background. The Bárbara Lennie character had the same feeling since she was little, when she started waiting for her mother to come home behind the window... and she didn't. And the Sunday illness lasts 35 years?.
