Plot
August 1715, France. After feeling a pain in his leg, King Louis XIV, starts sleeping less and getting weaker. Although he tries fulfilling his duties, he is barely able to complete them due to the increasing pains. Surrounded by his closest relatives he attends some meetings at the side of his bed, but he will start to lose control of his reign. His wife Madame de Maintenon, his son Louis XV, and his doctor, are afraid that his passing away might happen, and they try to hide it from the public. This is the slow agony of one of the most important Kings of France, and how his surroundings faced it.
Albert Serra goes back to directing, with 'La Mort de Luis XIV', an adaptación of Saint Simon's memoirs.
