Although he is a teacher in Bhutan, the young Ugyen thinks that his destiny is far from schools, as he avoids his duties and plans to go to Australia to become a singer. As a punishment, and so that no more crazy things occur to him, his superiors assign him to the most remote school that can exist on the face of the Earth, a glacial village in the Himalayas called Lunana. After an exhausting journey through mountains and snow, Ugyen arrives in Lunana and finds that it is a school with no blackboard, no windows and hardly any materials with which to teach.
