My Dearest Señorita

'My Dearest Señorita ' is a contemporary remake of the classic homonymous film by Jaime de Armiñán from 1972. In late 1960s Spain, Adela Castro is a respected woman in her small provincial town: pious, discreet, and devoted to caring for her elderly mother. Her life unfolds between the religious objects store she runs and a routine marked by social conventions. However, beneath that appearance of serenity lies a persistent unease, a feeling of misalignment that she has never been able to name.

When an unexpected medical visit brings to light a secret about her body that has remained hidden since her birth, Adela's world is shaken. Forced to confront a truth silenced for decades, she embarks on an intimate and painful journey towards the recognition of her identity. The revelation not only questions the image she had of herself but also the place she occupies in a rigid society, where the norms seem unmovable.

Determined not to continue living in the shadows, Adela leaves her home and moves to the big city, where she adopts a new identity and starts over. There she will discover the harshness of anonymity, but also the possibility of building sincere connections and exploring desires she never allowed herself to feel. Caught between ingrained guilt and the hope for an authentic life, she must learn to reconcile her past with her present.

This remake is directed by Fernando González Molina, with a script by Alana S. Portero, and produced by Suma Content, the production company of Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi. It features a prominent cast led by Elisabeth Martínez in her film debut, accompanied by actors such as Anna Castillo, Paco León, Nagore Aranburu, Manu Ríos, Eneko Sagardoy, Lola Rodríguez, María Galiana, and Delphina Bianco.
