Synopsis

The British filmmaker debuts with her film 'Pin Cushion', after having directed and written short films such as 'Twinkle, Twinkle' or 'Biatch!'. With her movie, she has participated in different international festivals, among them the Venice Film Festival, the International Film Festival of Rotterdam or the Buenos Aires International Festival of Independent Cinema. The cast is led by Lily Newmark and Joanna Scanlan, who put themselves in the shoes of a mother and daughter who try their luck in a new town. Iona (Newmark) is determined to make her life in high school a success, and will begin to get together with the popular girls, leaving her mother, who until then was her best friend, displaced. Both pretend that they are doing perfectly, but not everything is what it seems.
