Synopsis

'Red Cunt' is a daring documentary directed by the German director Rosa Baches, whose objective is to break the taboos around menstruation. The film has the participation of a very diverse group of people from different countries, making the ruler the center of social, scientific, artistic and economic interest in our society. 'Red Cunt' denounces the stigmas of the rule with the aim that the new generations have a better education than their mothers had. Through the animated character 'Mensi', a blood being that accompanies the protagonist Isabel, key questions will be launched such as: Why is the rule so discriminated against? Who profits from this discrimination? What status would you enjoy if men had it? According to the director: for centuries we have found ourselves with a rather patriarchal-neoliberal definition of menstruation: menstruation is a dirty thing that has to be hidden. The photography is in charge of Guillem Atienza and Tuki Jencquel, while the music is in charge of Andrew Krell and Pere Pèries. 'Red Cunt' stands as a co-production between Germany and Spain in which production companies such as Nächster Halt Film and Toned Media participate, the latter being in charge of distributing the documentary in Spain. According to the director: ?for centuries we have found ourselves with a rather patriarchal-neoliberal definition of menstruation: menstruation is a dirty thing that has to be hidden?.
