Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken

Ruby Gillman is a 16-year-old girl with only one concern in mind: fit in with her classmates in high school, a task she finds extremely difficult because she feels invisible to them. The only time she gets to be seen by someone is when she helps her friend Connor, whom she is in love with, with math. Ruby feels that if her mother allows her go swimming on the beach with the cool people from high school, she could fit in with them and start being one. But his mother has it strictly forbidden. Tired, one day, Ruby breaks her mother's rule and escapes to the beach, discovering that she is not really an ordinary girl, but belongs to the lineage of the great warrior queens of the Kraken and that her destiny is to protect the sea, inheriting her grandmother's throne. But that won't be Ruby's only challenge, as in her adventure she will discover that Chelsea, the most popular girl in high school is a mermaid, an enemy species par excellence of the kraken. A trip of acceptance and adventure where Ruby will not only have to accept who she is, but will also have the challenge of protecting their loved ones.
