The Chess Player

Spanish Civil War is about to begin when Diego Padilla wins the National Chess Championship in 1934. Thus, Padilla will meet French journalist Marianne Latour, who he will soon fall in love with. Both begin an idyllic romance which leads to their daughter. Marianne propose Diego to move to France. Once they are installed in the country, the chess player is accused of being a spy by the nazis and imprisoned in a SS jail. As time goes by, Diego, locked in an hostile environment seeks shelter in the chess game; which will put him in direct contact with colonel Maier, a severe and unpredictable man.

'The chess player' is directed by Luis Oliveros and starred by Marc Clotet, Melina Matthews, and Alejo Sauras.
