Lisa Spinelli (Maggie Gyllenhaal) works as a kindergarten teacher in a school in Staten Island, the burough of boroughs of New York City. Her life passes within the everydayness and boredom until one day she realizes one of her little pupils, Jimmy Roy (Parker Sevak), turns out to be a poetry portent. Since that moment, Lisa will not saparate from Jimmy, encouraging him and making sure the child makes the most of his talent. But there's a time her hard work will become an obsession and her methods will be very debatable. This is a new version of 2014 Naday Lapid's film and her director was awarded with the U.S. Dramatic Directing Award in Sundance 2018. The cast is completed with Rosa Salazar ('El corredor del laberinto: La cura mortal') y Gael García Bernal ('Coco').
