The Merciless

'The Merciless' tells the story of a surcorean prison, where gangster Jae-ho has everything under his control. The arrival of a new inmate, Hyeon-soo, will shake his apparently perfect structure, since the new arrival doesn't submit before anyone or anything. When Hyeon-soo saves the life of the leader, the two of them will forge a friendship and they will create an alliance. Their mission: to lead a organised crime band when they leave the prison. But betrayal is hidden in every corner of their fragile friendship. Among its cast, we can find veteran actor Sul Kyung-gu and K-pop star Yim Si-wan, on his cinematic debut. The film was premiered out of competition at the 2017 Cannes Film Festival.
