'Too Late To Die Young' is set in Chile in the summer of 1990, just after the end of the Pinochet dictatorship. Several families make the decision to move away from the city in order to find simpler lives in the isolated community at the foot of the Andes. Three teenagers, Sofía (16), Lucas (16) and Clara (10), struggle with this sudden change in their lives and have to adapt to this new rural town. The coming of age story addresses themes like sexuality, love and the desire to escape. The teenagers organise a New Years Eve party, but when disaster strikes they are forced to confront it. Although the film has a political backdrop, its themes are not explicitly political and it mostly deals with the way in which culture and society deals with this change.
