Matias (Colin Woodell) has bough a new laptop in which he discovers a hidden cache of a series of files that have been deleted. It is then when he realizes that he has bought a stolen computer and he may be monitored from the webcam. Even so, he logs in Skype with his friends to explore the computer and play, and they all end up going into the dark web, the depths of the Internet, full of dark secrets (including criminal activities of all kind) until they realize that, indeed, they have been watched the whole time. That someone who has been watching them will do everything he can to protect the dark web and the anonymity of all their users. Unlike its predecesor, the threat isn't supernatural and it's based in real life threats. Besides, it has no plot relation to the the first one.

Trivia Unfriended: Dark Web

The movie has two different endings in its theatrical version. The director himself uploaded the trailer in the dark web first. One of the first ideas for the sequel starred Laura Barns as antagonist again, this time against a group of college students in a game night for their participation in her humiliation and death.
