School companions

Lupita Nyong'o, Winston Duke, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II all attended the Yale School of Drama. Nyong'o and Duke were classmates.

Reference to 'Get Out'

While the Wilsons are in the Tylers' house, Jason eats a bowl of dry Froot Loops. This references a scene in Jordan Peele's previous movie, Déjame salir (2017), in which Rose Armitage eats dry Froot Loops and drinks milk from "segregated" glasses.

Spasmodic dysphonia

When creating Red's signature voice, Lupita Nyong'o was inspired by a condition called spasmodic dysphonia. The condition is characterized by intense vocal spasms causing breaks and interruptions in speech, as well as strained speech that is difficult to hear.

'Black Panther'

Lupita Nyong'o and Winston Duke previously starred in 'Black Panther' (2018).

Cameo

Jordan Peele is the voice of the fun narrator of the house.
