The Goya Awards 2018

With the date set for the Goya Awards, here's all you need to know about the 32nd edition of the ceremony.

Saturday 3rd February 2018 is an important date on the Spanish calendar because it marks the celebration of the most highly esteemed films of the year in Spain. The weekend will see the 32nd edition of the Spanish film award ceremony, the Goya Awards.

This year, in place of Dani Rovira, Joaquin Reyes and Ernesto Sevilla will be presenting the ceremony. Barbara Lennie and David Verdaguer announced the nominations on 13th December.

The Nominations

This year, more than 130 productions received nominations including 'Aundiya' which has been nominated 13 times! The film was closely followed by Isabel Coixet's 'The Bookshop' which picked up 12 nominations and Manuel Martín Cuenca's 'The Motive' with 9. Actress, Marisa Paredes is due to be awarded the Goya de Honor, a prize given to an individual whose work in the industry has stood out significantly. Paredes will be acclaimed for her career in Spanish cinema.

On top of Spanish films, there are also prizes for best Ibero-American and best European works.
