Biography
He attended the University of Liverpool, completing a degree in English Literature and Celtic Studies. While he was in college he began writing in university magazines, where he made his first theatrical works. He continued his studies at the University of Oxford, obtaining a Masters in Literature. After moving to New Zealand, he appeared in several productions in Unity, Downstage and Circa Theaters, before obtaining a television role in the telenovela 'Close to Home', in which he played Gerry. Thomas rose to fame in New Zealand in the late 1980s with the lead role of Inspector "Sharky" Finn in the police drama series 'Shark in the Park'. Later, he would participate in such well-known productions as: 'The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey', 'The Light between Oceans' and 'Spartacus: Blood and Sand'.
