Synopsis

'American Factory' is an American documentary distributed by Netflix that addresses the problem of closing an industrial plant in Moraine, Ohio, in 2008. Six years later, during 2014, a Chinese billionaire, owner of the company of crystals Fuyao, He acquired the plant and invested a huge sum of money to restart production. Two years later, in 2016, the Chinese plant had generated more than 2000 jobs, confirming the entrepreneur's good investment and showing how foreign capital can revive a sunken sector. In this way he showed that what seemed absolutely sunk could actually come back to the surface with the right business strategies. Obviously, much of that upturn has been thanks in large part to the hard work of the factory workers, who joined together managed to curb a terrible fate that seemed completely inevitable. An effort that ultimately ended up having its reward, even through the odds seemed to be impossible to solve. Working class fighting for what they deserve.

This documentary is the first project produced by the company of former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama Higher Ground Productions. The project has had a great impact, to the point of reaching the Oscars and rising with the golden box for Best Documentary.
