Plot

Seventh feature film by the Italian director Stefano Mordini, presented in the Official Selection, out of competition, at the 78th edition of Venice International Film Festival. Based on real events, when narrating the Circeo Massacre, in which two girls, Donatella Colasanti and Rosaria López, were brutally tortured and raped and one of them was murdered by Gianni Guido, Angelo Izzo and Andrea Ghira, three students from San Luigi High School, a private male high school where male children of the elite of Italian society studied, as well as upper-middle class students.

In a residential neighborhood in Rome there is a well-known Catholic school where the children of the upper middle class are educated. Families feel that in such an environment their children will be able to grow up protected from the turmoil that pervades society and that a strict education will open the doors to a bright future. On the night of September 29-30, 1975, that fortress of irreproachable values ??collapsed under the weight of one of the most heinous crimes of the time: the Circeo Massacre.

Film adapts novel with the same title, written by Edoardo Albinati, in which he narrated in the first person his experiences as a high school student, since he was a classmate of Rosaria López's murderers, and in which he makes a severe criticism of how Italian Catholicism does not he knew how to educate high school students and failed to take into account the social revolutions of the 60s and 70s, a decade known as Years of Lead.

Directed by Stefano Mordini and written by Massimo Gaudioso, Luca Infascelli and Mordini, 'The Catholic School' stars Emanuele Maria Di Stefano, Luca Vergoni, Francesco Cavallo, Andrea Lintozzi Senneca, Guido Quaglione, Alessandro Cantalini, Giulio Fochetti, Leonardo Ragazzini, Gianluca Guidi , Valerina Golino, Jasmine Trinca and Riccardo Scamarcio.
