Dead Man's Wire

'Dead Man's Wire' is the new feature film by Gus Van Sant, which dramatizes the true story of Tony Kiritsis, the young aspiring businessman in Indianapolis who became a curious folk hero in the U.S. after the kidnapping he carried out in 1977. Kiritsis kidnapped his real estate agent, burst into the offices of a mortgage company, and took the president of this company hostage. He threatened him with a shotgun and a bizarre wire mechanism that put the president of the real estate company at severe risk of death. 

At the helm of Gus Van Sant and with the pen of Austin Kolodney, Bill Skarsgård embodies this eccentric media character, joined in the cast by other actors such as Dacre Montgomery, Cary Elwes, Al Pacino, Colman Domingo, Myha'la, Kelly Lynch, and Jordan Claire Robbins. 

' Dead Man's Wire' has received a fairly positive reception from critics and audiences. Some compare it to 'Dog Day Afternoon', which is curious given the presence of Al Pacino, the star of this classic film, in the cast. 

It is a production from multiple companies such as Elevated Films, Pressman Film or Pinstripes. In Spain, it is distributed by Vertigo Films and the film hits theaters on March 13, 2026.
