Five Feet Apart

'Five Feet Apart' is a romance drama that tells the story of Stella Grant (Haley Lu Richardson, 'Recovery Road'), a young woman with cystic fibrosis who uses social media as a coping mechanism for hanging onto normality whilst living with her illness. She meets another cystic fibrosis sufferer, Will Newman (Cole Sprouse, 'Riverdale'), and the two quickly develop a close bond. Will discovers Stella's social media presence through her series of vlogs in YouTube, in which she opens up about life with cystic fibrosis.

Stella realises that her best friend, fellow CF patient Poe (Moises Arias, 'Hannah Montana', broke up with his boyfriend because of his diagnosis, and begins to dwell on the fragile nature of relationships.

CF patients are strictly told to stay six feet apart to reduce the risk of contracting a life-threatening infection, with Stella's nurse, Barbara (Kimberly Hebert Gregory, 'Craig of the Creek'), particularly concerned after previously witnessing the deaths of two romantically involved patients.

Stella and Will struggle with the growing attraction to each other and their frustration at the limits that their illness attempts to impose.

'Five Feet Apart' was written by Mikki Daughtry and Tobias Iaconis, and is directed by Justin Baldoni of 'Jane the Virgin' fame.
