For Night Will Come

Original titleEn attendant la nuit

Directed by Céline Rouzet · starring Louis Peres, Mathias Legoût Hammond and Élodie Bouchez

Synopsis

Philémon seems like a normal teenager, but he is not like the others; he is a vampire. He and his family have just moved to a quiet neighborhood on the outskirts of the city, where he does everything possible to fit in. It seems he is succeeding until he falls in love with his neighbor Camila, and it becomes complicated to continue hiding his true nature.

This is the first film by French filmmaker Céline Rouzet, whose first major project was the documentary 'A distant thud in the jungle,' for which she was nominated for several international documentary film awards. To make this feature film, she drew inspiration from her family and her teenage years: "The genre was the only way to tell it. It is a dark, dramatic, romantic, and thrilling film about someone who desperately tries to fit into a world that does not resemble him and seeks some kind of answer through love. It focuses on marginality and conformity, family sacrifices, outbursts of anger, primitive desires, but it also highlights the barbarism that exists in the life of an ordinary Western family."

Starring Mathias Legout Hammond, Elodie Bouchez, Jean-Charles Clichet, Céleste Brunnquell, and Laly Mercier.
