'Inside Out' trivia and fun facts

Peter Docter said that Riley's imaginary boyfriend is inspired in the guys of One Direction, because his daughter, in whom he inspired to create Riley, is a big fan of the boyband.

The dreams of Riley's father change in every country depending of the popular things in each place.

One of Riley's classmates wears a t-shirt with a skull, the same t-shirt that wears Sid in 'Toy Story'.

Every emotion is inspired on a shape: Joy is a star, Disgust is a broccoli, Sadness is a teardrop, Anger is a fire brick and Fear is a raw nerve.

The world map in Riley's classroom has marks with the places where the other Pixar films are set.

The pizza place that appears in 'Inside Out' is based on an actual place in Pixar Studios in which only one kind of pizza is served each day, including the broccoli one.

Riley's classroom in her new school is number A113, the same as the room at the California Institute of Arts where many Pixar animators graduated.

'Inside Out' received and 8 minute standing ovation when it opened at the Cannes Film Festival.

Too Many Emotions

The 'Inside Out' team came up with 27 different emotions, including Pride and Trust, but they decided to stick with only five to make the film easier to understand.

In the beginning they thought of including a sixth emotion in 'Inside Out', Logic, but they thought that if Logic was in Riley's head, the emotions wouldn't have free will, so they decided to erase it.
