Plot

This 1981 film tells the story of a prehistoric tribe that, after a rival tribe attacks their cave, has to leave in search of fire. The quarrel causes their fire, that they were keeping alive with caution, to die, making the Ulam tribe to leave in search of fire and survive out in the open. The survivors send Naoh, Amoukar and Gaw to fulfill this mission, in search of distant smokes and lacking food.

A tale of survival which Anthony Burgess ('A Clockwork Orange') created the primitive language for. Directed by Jean-Jacques Annaud ('Seven Years In Tibet'), the film won an Oscar for Best MakeUp.
