From the beginning, Susan is attracted to Joe, and in that relationship the protagonist sees an opportunity to quickly climb positions by being the boss's son-in-law. His whole plan is complicated when he realizes that he feels a strong desire to be with a woman older than he who also belongs to the theater group. She is French, and unfortunately she is married. Joe decides that he wants to get away with it, and that he has to see both women in parallel.
