Plot
The film tells the adventures of CJ (Eden Duncan-Smith) and Sebastian (Danté Crichlow), two high-schoolers and best friends hailing from East Flatbush, Brooklyn. CJ is a science prodigy and keen inventor, with her latest ambitious project working out how to crack time travel in time for the next science fair, even if it's just to be able to travel one day back into the past. CJ's enjoyment of manipulating physics is disrupted, however, when her older brother Calvin (Calvin Walker) is shot by the police after they mistake the mobile phone in his hand for a concealed weapon. CJ decides that her time machine can now fulfil one specific purpose: going back in time to save her brother's life before he is unjustly murdered. Instead, every attempt of CJ's and Sebastian's to travel back to the past seems to complicate events all the more. The two of them end up trying to undo the damage they've done, whilst facing some heartbreaking choices along the way.
'See You Yesterday' combines science-fiction with political commentary in this Netflix release directed by Stefon Bristol ('Payroll'), co-written by Frederica Bailey and with Spike Lee serving as producer.
