Superman

'Superman' returns to the big screen under the direction of James Gunn, president of DC Studios and director of the 'Guardians of the Galaxy' film saga. It is an American superhero film based on DC Comics and starring the character of the same name. Produced by DC Studios and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, it will be the first film of the DC Universe (DCU) and will mark a new era for Superman movies.

It is written and directed by James Gunn and stars David Corenswet as Clark Kent/Superman, alongside Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Edi Gathegi, Anthony Carrigan, Nathan Fillion, Isabela Merced, Skyler Gisondo, Sara Sampaio, María Gabriela de Faría, Wendell Pierce, Alan Tudyk, Pruitt Taylor Vince, and Neva Howell.

In the film, Superman's journey to reconcile his alien heritage with his human family is explored. Superman faces new enemies and, above all, unknown dangers that threaten humanity once again, but this time we will see more of the internal conflict of the legendary superhero. 'Superman' is, according to Gunn, "the true beginning of the DCU." It is not an origin story of the iconic DC character, but an adventure in which Superman seeks to balance his Kryptonian essence, his native world, and his human side. Clark Kent embodies truth and justice; he is a reflection of goodness in a society that believes goodness is an outdated concept.

'Superman' is one of the projects that are part of 'Gods and Monsters,' Chapter 1 of the new DC Studios.
