We Own The Night

New York, 1988. A new type of drug has invaded the enormous city, followed by the most fierce and terrifying wave of crime ever remembered. Outnumbered in personnel and weapons by the new gangsters, the police lose an average of two of their own each month. It is a declared war that threatens to take down both the guilty and the innocent.

Bobby Green finds himself caught in the crossfire. He is the manager of a nightclub located in Brighton Beach frequented by gangsters like Vadim Nezhinski. Bobby tries to stay out of it and not get involved. Despite an amoral and hedonistic lifestyle, he loves his girlfriend Amanda and dreams of opening a nightclub in Brooklyn.

But Bobby has a well-kept secret. His brother is police lieutenant Joseph Grusinsky, who has followed in the footsteps of their father, the legendary police chief Burt Grusinsky. Bobby does not get along with them, and the relationship worsens when his father warns him that it is war and that he must decide which side he is on.

He cannot remain neutral when his brother is seriously injured and he discovers that his father could be next. He realizes that they will only be safe when Nezhinski's organization is destroyed, and he joins his brother for a full-scale assault. Together they will try to make their own the motto that the New York police had in the eighties: "The night is ours."
