About the Demon Slayer saga
'Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba' was born in Koyoharu Gotouge's manga, published from 2016 to 2020, about Tanjiro Kamado, a boy whose family is slaughtered by demons and whose sister Nezuko is turned into one. Tanjiro joins the Demon Slayer Corps to make her human again. Studio ufotable's anime adaptation, from 2019, turned the story into a worldwide phenomenon.
Its first film, 'Demon Slayer the Movie: Mugen Train' (2020), a direct continuation of the first season, became the highest-grossing film in Japanese history, ahead of 'Spirited Away'. 'To the Hashira Training' (2024) brought the end of one season and the start of the next to cinemas.
The story's final arc is being adapted as a trilogy of films, which began with 'Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - Infinity Castle' (2025), another box office hit around the world.
