About the Crayon Shin-chan saga
Crayon Shin-chan, animation's cheekiest five-year-old, was born in 1990 in Yoshito Usui's manga and reached Japanese television in 1992. His pranks, his dances and his outrageous remarks test his family, the Noharas, every day: his mother Misae, his father Hiroshi, his baby sister Himawari and his dog Shiro. The anime became a television phenomenon in Spain and much of the world.
Since 1993 Japan has released a new Shin-chan film every year, more adventurous than the series. Among the best known are 'Crayon Shin-chan: The Adult Empire Strikes Back' (2001), considered one of the finest of the series, and 'Crayon Shin-chan: The Battle of the Warring States' (2002), a trip to feudal Japan.
Usui died in 2009, but Shin-chan carried on on television and in cinemas. 'Shin Jigen! Crayon Shin-chan the Movie' (2023) was the character's first film in 3D animation, and the series has passed thirty films.
