After studying for a year in London, the young Emma returns home with an unexpected surprise for her mother Lana: she is getting married in a month to her new boyfriend RJ at his resort in Phuket, Thailand. Upon arriving at the resort, Lana not only meets her daughter's new boyfriend but also his father Will who, surprise, was her boyfriend when she was young and left her stranded after disappearing without a trace.

Thus, Lana tries to organize the perfect wedding for her daughter without being able to get out of her head that she is going to be family with the person who broke her heart years ago. But as Lana gradually gets closer to Will again, she discovers that behind her desire for revenge, there are still feelings for him.

'Mother of the Bride' stars Brooke Shields as Lana and Benjamin Bratt as Will. The young couple is played by Miranda Cosgrove and Sean Teale. The cast also includes Rachael Harris and Chad Michael Murray, among others. The movie was filmed in various locations on the island of Phuket in Thailand.
